Nicotine and all methods of its delivery be classified schedule 1 under controlled substances act.

Created by D.M. on February 26, 2013

Considering that tobacco and other nicotine products meet the standard for Schedule 1 classification on the Controlled Substances Act:

1. The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.

2. The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.

3. There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.

These points had been made by the late Surgeon General C. Everett Coop and should be acted upon.

This would also reduce the unhealthy influence these industries exert on our democracy through lobbying and attempts to prevent creating more addicts for there product.
