This year of 2013, casino development plan comes back to Market and 8th streets, Philadelphia. Only two blocks from Independence National Historic Park.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is close to deciding which one of the six applicants will get the license to operate the second casino in Philadelphia. One applicant - Market East Associate - is proposing “Market 8” casino right on Market and 8th streets.
Casino developer, it will be a dam good business for you to tap public mass transportation (SEPTA, Amtrak) and downtown foot traffic to bring in gamblers. But, please seek growth elsewhere, not at the doorstep of our nation’s symbols: Independence Hall and The Liberty Bell.
In fact, Philadelphia does NOT need a second casino anywhere!
