No to coal power plants in Mauritius!!
Coal power plants are the biggest source of man made CO2 pollution, which alone contribute to one third of the world’s CO2 emissions impacting on global warming. A coal plant on average produces smog, acid rain, global warming and air toxics. While skeptics would argue coal is a third ‘cleaner’ than it was thirty years ago, it remains the same; it still pollutes and the supply is finite. While the Prime Minister highlights the importance of environmental preservation in the "Maurice Ile Durable" concept, the choice that leads towards coal as an alternative source of energy is amongst the least sustainable ones. It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save what is left of our environmental remains. We urge the Mauritian government
