The humanitarian crisis in Syria has become insupportable, resulting in the refugee crisis we see today. We cannot just stand by and watch as Bashar al-Assad continues to use illegal barrel bombs and chlorine bombs on civilians killing more innocent men, women, and children, leaving them no option but to embark on the dangerous journey. Safe zones must be made for civilians where they can be safe from harm and where humanitarian aid can be delivered and be reached by civilians safely.
These atrocities cannot continue. The effects of the Syrian crisis are being felt all throughout the region and now Europe with the resulting mass refugee exodus. Safe zones will provide safety and much needed relief and humanitarian aid. A No Fly Zone for strictly humanitarian purposes must be established.
