Human trafficking is the fastest increasing criminal industry in today’s world, and a horrifying violation of human rights. The number of victims of modern day slavery, at any given time is 27 million men, woman, and children of all ages.
The first step is awareness. We are asking President Obama for his support in funding billboards, educational materials, advertising, and other related media sources to bring this growing problem to the public.
This is a global issue and one which just can't be ignored. Publicizing this issue will make the citizens of the United States able to recognize the signs of a human trafficking victims and know how and who to contact.
We cannot call ourselves free if the buying and selling of human beings is still an industry.
