It's my belief and that of many others that rifles and handguns captured in war zones should not be destroyed. Instead, they should be rebuilt to be legal semi-automatic rifles, and refurbished. They can then be sold at warehouse prices for a huge profit. Many weapons that have been captured are of great historical significance, and would be very valuable to collectors. Instead of reselling them, they're immediately disassembled and destroyed.
Instead of destroying them, they should be made legal. This will create jobs by giving gun smiths work refurbishing and re working the rifles and hand guns. We can only win by doing this. Collectors get historical fire arms for much cheaper than retail, jobs are created, the economy is stimulated, and the Government gets another source of income.
