We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

No longer identify the alleged perpetrators of mass shootings, treat them as we do victims of sexual assault

Created by S.T. on January 06, 2017

Mass shootings were fairly rare as i grew up in the 80's & 90's but the internet was in its infancy & we had to wait for a breaking report or scheduled news broadcasts as opposed to now when there are hundreds of cable channels & even elementary school kids have a world of information at their fingertips.

Is it possible that this violence wouldn't happen as frequently if the media didn't make the shooters (in)famous by broadcasting a perp's life story for multiple news cycles after the crime? What if the media followed a blackout protocol akin to how they treat victims of sexual assault so some sick bastard couldn't get their 15 minutes of fame off of the sorrow of some some innocent soul and their family? Before we need gun control we need PUBLICITY control, it might solve the problem.
