no longer require sex but gender identity on hospital forms.

Created by F.G. on December 19, 2014

When filling out hospital forms, there is always a form asking for your legal sex. This is antediluvian and we should start going by gender identity. If we were to do this, doctors would get a better understanding of their patients, the public will become more educated about gender identities and pronouns, and we can all progress into a more all-inclusive, equal society. Simply recognizing transgender and gender queer existences is a step in the right direction towards equal treatment. The sex the patient is born with can be asked later in the more personal, oral interview with the doctor if they deem it necessary.
