The Obama administration has suggested that it is considering taking action in Syria, whether it be providing arms to the rebels against Bashar al-Assad's government or more direct military involvement. Arming these rebels means arming al-Qaeda and its affiliates. There is no feasible way to vet the rebel groups. Any military support that the United States gives to the Syrian rebels, whether it be direct or indirect intervention, will support terrorists who will use our support to attack the U.S. and its interests abroad. The Obama administration must make a statement that it will not intervene in Syria.
