The reason why I am starting this petition is because christopher colombus was a mass murderer and enslaver of an entire race and lets not forget he did not even find america . so instead of celebrating him we should remember the countless amount of lives that were brutally taken away and we also should stop teaching children that christopher colombus was a hero when he didn't do anything for this country except for genocide so if we can celebrate a criminal we might as well remember the lives that were lost meaning that instead of taking a day off for colombus day it should be for native american appreciation day.
