America has become a disposable society, but we are running out of room for the staggering amount of plastic waste that we generate on a daily basis. Our landfills are full, and 5 TRILLION individual pieces of plastic are floating in our oceans, gradually working themselves into our food supply. There was a time that our milk, juice, and fresh fruits were exclusively packaged in biodegradable, cardboard containers, and there is no reason why that system can't be restored today. Our proposal is simple: NO MORE PLASTIC CONTAINERS FOR A LIMITED PORTION OF OUR NATION'S FOOD SUPPLY.
