We the people, petition the U.S. government, to devise a bipartisan public campaign that addresses the innocent killings of its citizens by means of excessive gun violence. This campaign shall include public, private and nonprofit organizations that advocate a position in the firearms industry and their equally like-minded foes with the inclusion of public safety personnel and behavioral scientists.
The campaign shall recognize that there is a difference of opinion concerning the 2nd amendment right and that the 2nd amendment shall not be the centerpiece of its product; as the campaign agrees to shelf the 2nd amendment debate. This campaign shall promote the responsibilities and necessities of gun ownership and what a citizen should do in the event these items are compromised.
