No Pay or Benefits for Republican Senators

Created by M.R. on October 28, 2016

The 54 GOP senators have acted as obstructionists in their denial of a hearing for Judge Merrick Garland, nominated by President Obama to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Led by Mitch McConnell, the senators have refused to work. They are obligated to set a hearing and have failed to do so. Meanwhile, they reap financial benefits as senators. I demand that the GOP senators NOT get paid during their self-inflicted no work action and that this be retroactive to include all of the months of pay and benefits they have received since President Obama's nomination. It is morally reprehensible that hardworking, tax-paying citizens support the senators who refuse to do their job.
