The US Constitution is in our country the rule of law. It delineates the exercise, the limitations, the freedoms, and the negative freedoms by which our government should be run and practiced. A person who is seeking public/government office or has been elected to public/government office should know what the Constitution says by which their leadership, guidance, governing, and service to the people must be within the framework of the US Constitution. Americans elected to office should not "wing it" nor rely on emotions or what THEY think is right or wrong, but all they do or say with regard to that office must be in keeping with the original intent of the founding fathers who drafted the Constitution and the rule of law described in that document so that we remain true to our heritage.
