No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion

Created by A.P. on April 24, 2014

I realize that the Affordable Care Act has benefited thousands of people, but I am troubled by the fact that taxpayer’s money is supporting elective abortions.

I would like to ask you to support the Hyde Amendment Codification Act. In accordance with the Constitution, it makes a clear statement that federal funds can not be used for health plans that include abortion outside of rape or a life-endangering situation. In January 2014, this bill was passed in the House of Representatives with a 227-188 vote. As of right now, this bill is sitting with the Senate Committee on Finance. States are giving taxpayers the choice to select healthcare plans that don’t support abortion, but in some states there are no such plans available.
