Although Republican tomfoolery will be in place to block any nomination of President Obama for the remainder of his term, it is vital and essential that this nomination take place in the months ahead. Michelle Obama possesses the intelligence, conviction, and grace to serve in the capacity of Supreme Court justice, and to deny the people of this nation the opportunity for Ms. Obama to bring both a substantive and strategic perspective to the nation's highest court would be to give in to naive and vain opinions of the first lady.
