Diversity is important to consider for nominating the next Supreme Court justice. We the people praise President Obama for making the Supreme Court more diverse in the past. We urge the President to continue the track record by nominating an Asian American as the next Supreme Court justice as:
Justice delivered by people look more like the communities they serve brings greater confidence in our justice system. As judges break barriers, they serve as role models for generations to come. Asian Americans are the fastest growing ethnic group in the nation and have become more politically active shown by the protests on Feb. 20 to support Peter Liang.
It is time for the President to leave a truly historic legacy by nominating an Asian American to the Supreme Court.
