When the Chairman of the Fed speaks, it affects markets in the US and around the globe. Larry Summers is a man who has publicly questioned women's aptitude for higher math and science. He has to consider any regulation of any highly risky-investments such as derivatives. He authorized Harvard to buy $3.5 BILLION of derivatives when he was President of Harvard. By 2008 Harvard had lost ONE BILLION DOLLARS. The failure of the derivatives market was one of the two main causes of the economic collapse in 2008. He also pushed to repeal Glass-Steagall Act. That was the second major cause of the economic collapse of 2008. The President should NOT nominate Larry Summers. He is a sexist male and a risky investment for the Fed.
