At the time of serious concerns that the Ebola Virus may extend to the US, is it not quite time to nominate a surgeaon General, to coordinate safety strategies in this area, and other too?
Two names come to mind (ranked alphabetically: Doctor Sanjey Gupta of CNN, Doctor Kessler, former surgeon General of the Bush administration.
A recess appointment could work, but a confirmation by congress would be polically wise.
