We petition Barack Obama for self-nomination as Supreme Court Justice to fill on conclusion as POTUS. He is a Harvard Law graduate, an experienced civil rights attorney, former President of Harvard Law Review, former Constitutional Law instructor at the University of Chicago Law School, former Senator, and current POTUS.
Per Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution, only the POTUS can nominate a SCOTUS candidate, for the Senate to confirm or deny. GOP leaders would know the position remained vacated during Obama’s tenure as POTUS; Obama as candidate would considered by the next Senate after the 2016 elections.
Since the Circuit Judges Act of 1869, the number of justices was decided at nine, where it has traditionally remained. We wish to fill the void in active leadership.
