Ken Burns is a national treasure—the chronicler of all things American. His career is still alive and vibrant, but he should not have to wait until we honor him with the award he so richly deserves: The Medal of Freedom. His beautiful films have made him one of America’s most loved documentarians. President Obama should nominate Ken Burns for the Medal of Freedom the next time the opportunity arises. Here are a few of his accomplishments so far:
The Civil War (1990)
Baseball (1994), updated with the 10th Inning (2010)
Jazz (2001)
The War (2007)
The National Parks: America's Best Idea (2009)
Prohibition (2011)
The Dust Bowl (2012)
Please sign this petition to ask the President to honor this great American.
