I am a white male who lives near Atlanta, GA and I believe we should finally have an African-American female on the US Supreme Court and who better than the honorable Leah Ward Sears. I have never met her, but what an outstanding career. I admire her and believe she would provide fair and unbiased opinions needed in the United States.
Ms. Sears was elected to the Superior Court of Fulton County Georgia. She became the first African-American woman to hold such a position in the state of Georgia. In 1992, she was appointed to the Georgia's Supreme Court where she became the first woman and the youngest person ever to sit on that court. She was the first woman to win a contested statewide election in Georgia. She was sworn in as Chief Justice of Georgia's Supreme Court on June 28, 2005.
