Malala Yousafzai, a teenaged girl in Pakistan, attended school despite threats from the Taliban, which is against education for girls. She has also spoken out for this right since the age of 11, drawing the attention of the Taliban even further, On October 9, 2012, gunmen attempted to assassinate her, shooting her in the head on her school bus, and injuring some of her classmates. She survived, and plans to continue her education. Malala deserves the Peace Prize for drawing attention to the issue of girls' education and her courage in the face of continued opposition from the Taliban. The prize will help Malala and other girls to receive an education.
As the holder of a Nobel Peace Prize, President Obama is qualified to nominate others for the prize. Please nominate Malala.
