The United States has reached a turning point on civility. The extremes on both sides of the aisle are increasingly resorting to unproductive and mean-spirited communication that is dividing the country. To go forward, we must reach a new level of unity. A bold opportunity exists for President Obama to move the country in that direction.
Due to an unfortunate accident, the previous Commerce Secretary resigned. Currently that position is filled by an Acting Secretary. Assuming a new Secretary will be appointed in the new Administration, we suggest nominating Mitt Romney based upon his extensive business experience. This unifying nomination would not only promote bi-partisanship and unique business insight, but it would help remove the echo chamber that greatly threatens our nation.
