Nominate a Native American to the Supreme Court

Created by J.C. on February 14, 2016

The vacancy created by the death of Justice Scalia presents President Obama with an opportunity to make history by finally nominating a Native American to the highest court in the land. It is astonishing that in the entire history of this nation not one justice with the heritage of the First Peoples has been chosen to serve on the Supreme Court. President Obama can correct this ongoing and appalling injustice and for the first time in history fashion a Court that truly reflects EVERY AMERICAN. In recent decades, we have seen the Court integrated with African Americans, women, and Latinos. The president must take the logical step demanded by our nation's history and finally permit a Native American the opportunity to shape and develop our constitutional law.
