This petition is intended to request the nomination by the president of Neil deGrasse Tyson for the position of National Science Advisor. Mr. Tyson is currently serving as director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of National History.
As a country, we have lost our youth have lost inspiration in science, particularly with the decline of the US space program. Mr. Tyson's tireless efforts to inspire people about science and space exploration make him the best possible choice to lead the country in these endeavours and help the next generation carry us to the stars.
If the National Science Advisor position is filled, it is requested that Mr. Tyson be strongly considered for other positions where his infectious excitement about science and space can be of most benefit.
