Nominate a Supreme Court Justice as quickly as possible so as to have adequate time to achieve a Senate confirmation.

With Justice Scalia's passing, the GOP is posturing rapidly to attempt a forced deferral on President Obama's mandate to nominate a replacement. This is politics at its worst. With many recent SCOTUS rulings rolling back hard won gains at protecting democracy, our institutions, women's rights and our environment, it is critically important that our sitting President sit a new Justice while the opportunity exists. We urge the President to resist the egregious Republican calls to defer and to move post haste to place a nominee before the Senate. There is no time to waste here.
