With the ongoing and ever increasing fear of being gunned down by police officers, I propose that police officers implement a policy of loading the first three rounds of their firearms with non-lethal rounds. This would help to protect against accidental shootings and increase civilian trust in their law enforcement while not hindering the officer's ability to perform their duties.
