We ask that you disregard all petitions to secede, and acknowledge them solely as a display of destructively exaggerated frustration with the inadequacies of our entire political system. Regard them as frustration with the "leaders" in Washington that no longer represent the people, but instead represent a party. A divided and significantly polarized Congress is destroying the United States in a time when the people are in dire need of their help. We can not, and we will not, abandon this great nation that we love, have fought for, and have built lives in. We have given you our lives, our money, and our votes. We deserve your cooperation and your attention in a time when poverty, doubt, and mistrust threatens us. Instead, we see fighting and bickering. We are The People!
