Not allow DUI to be considered a felony in any state, and pardon anyone without a specific victim who has been convicted

Created by M.W. on February 13, 2013

Criminalizing things such as DUI, public intoxication, etc, have their merits, however, unless fatality/injury/property damage is involved, DUI in and of itself should not be considered a felony in any state. Every state has statutes that deal with criminal negligence, but, without a definable victim, criminalizing such infractions as public intoxication or DUI are just defeating the values that we Americans hold so dear: Justice, Fairness, etc. Right now, good Americans are being denied jobs due to mistakes they made in college, etc, with NO victim, because most companies have a blanket ban on felons, even those whose crimes are DUI or Public Intoxication. I urge everyone to support this petition and end this injustice. Thank you.
