Not allow the FDA to swap the grams measurement for a teaspoon measurement on nutrition labels.

Created by K.A. on February 07, 2014

I have been told that the FDA is working on reforming the nutrition label on all food products. One of the possible reforms is doing away with the grams measurement of each nutrient and replacing it with another form of measurement, possibly teaspoons. This seems like a bad idea to me because:

1) Many Americans know how many grams of what nutrient (esp. protein) that they aim to have.

2) A teaspoon is not as accurate of a measurement as a gram is.

I think they ought to leave that part of the nutrition label as it is.
