Alabama is facing a budget crisis and our legislators are considering cutting the Medicaid benefit that subsidizes prescription drug costs for adults.
This will directly lead to thousands of deaths, including myself, as people like me cannot afford the medicine without the help.
I am just one among many. I lost my job because of a bad heart. I have four small children. The medicine is the only thing keeping me alive. This would be a death sentence for people like me in Alabama.
Please help us, our state government doesn't care. These changes would go into effect this year. We don't have much time.
