Not allow Medicaid/Care cuts to cost thousands of mentally ill Americans their current level of care.

Created by E.J. on November 15, 2012

Thousands of Americans suffer from Mental Illness. At the CURRENT level of care many are homeless, jobless and can't afford care as it is. Any cuts to Medicaid/care that affect those already receiving what little care is available to low or no income adults would lead to more suicides, more hospitalizations, more jobless and homeless mentally ill Americans, and MORE DEBT faced in addressing these new problems. A single prescription for an antipsychotic medication used to keep someone stable and help them lead a productive life can cost more than $800 a mo. Mental illness is no different than Diabetes, or cancer. They can't be cured. They CAN, however, be effectively managed through health services just like any other chronic illness. Don't leave us out in the cold because we're stigmatized
