Privatizing Air Traffic Control will give the major airline corporations too much power as well as introduce a "user fee", which carries the risk of destroying the general aviation industry in the United States the same way it has been harmed in Europe. It also carries the risk of making aviation more dangerous, as GA planes may try to fly without contacting ATC.
