The purpose is to convince the administration that cruise missiles will do nothing to convince Assad that using chemical weapons is wrong. Killing more people will not improve the situation and in fact may worsen the regional outlook. We must work with Turkey, Jordan (any neighbor (who will work with us) to aid the refugees flooding from Syria and to keep the fighting from spreading.
