not betray veterans by gutting their military pensions in the Bipartisan Budget Agreement of 2013.

Created by M.H. on December 14, 2013

The Bipartisan Budget Agreement of 2013 will cut the Cost Of Living Adjustments (COLA) by 1% each year for all veterans until the age of 62. This is an enormous breach of trust for those that have honorably served their country under an agreement with the government on a certain set of earned benefits following 20 years of service. To change the pension agreement after service members have dedicated and sacrificed so much of their lives is a disservice to current veterans and will erode any confidence for those who are currently serving or may serve in the future. This provision of the budget agreement should be removed to maintain the faith of veterans and honor the promises they were made before sacrificing their service to the country.
