Make a nomination for the Supreme Court vacancy, and not concede under public pressure from Republicans to defer.

Created by J.S. on February 13, 2016

Despite that any nomination President Obama makes will be fiercely obstructed, it is important for him to exercise his assigned duty to make a nomination even during his final months in office.

The swiftness with which many Republican figures including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have called for the matter to be deferred until after the election is indicative of the major effort they will mount to dissuade him.

Mr. President, we implore you to act on this as quickly as possible. A message to those who would like to bend the expected and usual proceedings in such a situation to fit their agenda must be made.
