This is a response to a petition here to make the TSA follow the law: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/require-transportation-securit... that expired during a "maintenance period" and was extremely close to the response threshold of 25,000 signatures.
We believe that the White House did not want to address the issue at all, and used a technical problem to make the petition moot.
If this was all an oversight, then reinstate the petition and allow it to reach the threshold naturally.
We sincerely value this tool of direct feedback to the executive branch, which is why we are so frustrated at what appears to be meddling with the system.
