This country has come a long way towards equality, but one thing that I just can not stand for is the continued discrimination towards transgender/transexual individuals. Men are forced to sign up for the draft to receive benefits such as financial aid, where as women do not have to. Transgender individuals who's birth gender is male, but identify as female, should not be forced to do something that is standard for cis-gendered males! It is incredibly mentally scarring for a young, fragile transgender person, who has already faced discrimination from their peers, to now be forced to sign something that will exist forever stating that they are an adult male. I could see this as a major potential cause of self harm in young people, and it is incredibly offensive and wrong.
