When you campaigned in 2008, you promised change. We voted for you because we were tired of the Bush administration's preemptive strikes and overuse of the military. This is your mandate, based on your own campaign promises. Now your administration is dangerously close to repeating those mistakes in Syria. When John Kerry made the case against Assad and spoke of evidence of his use of chemical weapons, it sounded all too similar to Colin Powell's now infamous case that Saddam Hussein was stockpiling weapons of mass destruction. We are not saying that the US government should turn a blind eye. In fact, we agree that use of chemical weapons is morally abhorrent. But we want our government to take the time to investigate thoroughly before taking action,
