For nearly two decades the US businesses have benefited from the import of labor under the H1B program. During that same period we've lost significant income and caused many in our own domestic workforce to be under or unemployed. Those most negatively impacted are at the peak of their careers and are often replaced only to reduce corporate costs.
This H1B program also results in a suppressed wage and earning potential or recent domestic technical and college graduates, many burdened by student loans the immigrant does not have.
This possible legislation and an accompanying increase in the H1B cap could wipe an entire generation of US Citizens and impact the existing American Middle Class.
