It is a travesty against the Due Process Clause of our Bill of Rights that the Obama administration is considering the murder of an American citizen, Abdullah al-Shami, without being tried in a court of law, no matter the egregious nature of the crimes being charged.
The Due Process Clause acts as a safeguard from arbitrary denial of life, liberty, or property by the Government outside the sanction of law. Drone attacks on an American citizen, even off American soil, is a black eye to our constitution and what it means to be American.
If the administration wants to give a death sentence to a citizen, they must do so through the legal channels of the American justice system.
