The government should never restrain the peaceful expression of views, even those the population finds despicable. Regarding the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), all legal action has been proposed solely because of the content of the group's speech and expression. Government classification of the WBC or similar groups as "hate groups" violates First Amendment rights.
