NOT to legalize undocumented foreign nationals who have committed certain serious -- but seldom prosecuted -- crimes.

Created by M.M. on November 12, 2014

The American People may tolerate, or even approve, legalizing the presence of undocumented immigrants whom we see as deserving of this generous act of grace. But the promised "common sense" immigration reform surely cannot include granting legalization to those who have
-- illegally voted
-- illegally obtained or tried to obtain firearms, and
-- illegally obtained or tried to obtain federal or state financial assistance.

Each of these actions is a federal and/or state crime, but each is infrequently prosecuted. So a bar to eligibility based upon conviction will inevitably be ineffective.

No undocumented immigrant who committed any of these acts should be granted legal status. "Period.Full Stop." The President should include this approach in his Executive action, if any.
