In response to the atrocity in Connecticut, many citizens are overreacting and overemphasizing gun violence in America. Citizens are obviously unaware of other more prominent forms of violence that plagues this nation. This crime occurred in an area with some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, which obviously indicates that the regulations are not to blame for the incident, the individuals committing the crimes are to blame. Make penalties for these crimes harsher on the individuals committing the crimes without impinging and punishing law abiding citizens for the actions committed by criminals. There are over 270,000,000 guns in America, only 9,484 murders occurred with a firearm last year, 66% of which were attributed to suicide.
