This petition is directed towards the 'threat' against U.S. Citizens' Second Amendment Rights. We [as former members of the military] believe that it is our right and responsibility to help defend our homes and land. Current violent events should cause the people of this country to become more aware of the mental state of others around them; but this should not abolish the legal abiding citizens right to purchase or own weapons [including but not limited to pistols, rifles, shotguns and high powered rifles]. We feel that our rights and liberties in this aspect are being threatened.
