Some people think it would be a good idea to make spaying/neutering of cats and dogs mandatory. I say the Government has no right to tell us what surgical operations our pets require.
Just how mandatory would it be anyway? If someone couldn't afford to have their pet spayed/neutered would they be fined? Who would pay to have stray animals spayed/neutered, would there be a new tax? How would a mandatory spay/neuter law be applied to cat and dog breeders? Would this law only apply to cats and dogs or would it cover other animals as well?
A mandatory spay/neuter law sounds like a good idea, until you actually think about it.
