Not pass another assualt weapons ban

Believing in the Second Amendment rights of the citizens to keep and bear arms I do hereby request President Obama and members of Congress to no pass any legislation involving any assault weapons ban. As a LEO and gun owner, I've never felt threatened by any law abiding citizen with a gun or assault weapon and despite all the laws passed and enforcement of those laws noone has ever been able to keep weapons out of the hands of those who cant legally own them now will they ever. Why strip the citizens of their right to have the same weapons to defend themselves with that the criminals will still be getting despite a weapons ban. Look at the 2008 FBI study of assaults on LEO's with firearms. Only 1 weapon in all cases was obtained legally. I beleive in all law abiding citizens carrying.
