Raising the minimum wage does not increase money in the pockets of people. Business just raise the prices of goods to make up the difference in cost of production. It also hurts the middle class that does not get a wage increase but still pays higher costs of living. One day, hopefully, the government will realize that you can't just keep giving people more money and hope that the economy will improve. Why work harder when the government will give me what I need?
