Basically criminals are getting notorious worldwide and people continue to pull copycat crimes. The colorado movie massacre was terrible and since that story was released mainstream many people are trying to pull copycat attacks. Had their names not been released the fame they are now getting would be non-existent. People who commit these crimes not only have problems but they are looking for the fame. Without this fame they would be less inclined to commit crimes.
